I have about 20 PUFIs at my feeders. Been here about a week now. Been feeding here since 1994 – always get a few each winter. But never this many.
Lucky for me I’m not participating in any citizen science projects this week. I’m sure 20 PUFIs would be flagged and dismissed the same way my report of 75 pine siskins was in early 2000s and same way my report of 20 palm warblers from Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge was in 2009. I guess I’m gonna have to stick with IBWOs :-))
I don’t know what I’ll do if they hang around till Jan. 1 when
we have our annual Balsam CBC?
